Grandvalira Resorts will offer more than 150 km of skiable slopes for the Christmas holidays

The low temperatures mean that the skiing on offer in the Andorran domains can be extended for the festive period.

Andorra is positioned as the best offer in the Pyrenees with more than 90 km of skiable slopes in Grandvalira, 40 km in Pal Arinsal and 80% of the slopes open in Ordino Arcalís with a single ski pass to enjoy them all.

Adventure activities, magical proposals for families and a luxury musical line-up to enjoy après-ski complete an agenda full of events.

Grandvalira Resorts will offer more than 150 skiable kilometres for the Christmas holidays that are just beginning and will have all the connections between the different sectors operational. The intense work of the terrain teams, together with the drop in temperature, has made it possible to extend the skiing offer in the Andorran domains, where skiers will find some of the best conditions in the Pyrenees at the moment. Thus, Grandvalira will have 90 km of connected ski slopes, so skiers will be able to ski from Pas de la Casa to Canillo, passing through Grau Roig, Encamp, Soldeu and El Tarter; Pal Arinsal will offer 40 km and will have a cable car connection between the two sectors, and Ordino Arcalís will make 23 km available to skiers.

In addition, the resorts hope that the temperatures will be favourable for snow production for a few days, so that the skiable area can be extended during the Christmas holidays, weather permitting. One of the slopes where intense work is being carried out in order to open it as soon as the conditions are right is the mythical Avet slope, which is being prepared for the big event on 10 and 11 February, with the Women's Alpine Skiing World Cup. It is also worth mentioning that one of the areas that has already been enabled since Saturday is the Port Negre de Arinsal, with the new chairlift, the great novelty of the season in the resort.

It should be remembered that the beginners' areas of the three resorts have optimum snow conditions, which offers an excellent opportunity for novice skiers who want to get started in the practice of snow sports. In this sense, the Grandvalira Resorts ski schools are fully operational offering their learning services, both in skiing and snowboarding, freestyle and freeride. Likewise, this global country offer planned for the Christmas holidays can be enjoyed with the single Andorra Pass ski pass, which allows you to ski indistinctly in all the domains: Grandvalira, Pal Arinsal and Ordino Arcalís.

Grandvalira, voted best resort in the Pyrenees

The resorts of Grandvalira Resorts have obtained a place in the Top-10 of the prestigious Ski The East Awards, which establish a ranking of the best resorts in Spain, Andorra and the French Pyrenees based on customer surveys. The Grandvalira resort has been the winner and, therefore, chosen as the best resort. Ordino Arcalís was also on the podium in third place, while Pal Arinsal was chosen as the 6th best resort out of a total of 50 resorts analysed.

The alternative proposals to skiing, which form part of the Grandvalira Resorts experience, have also been recognised and Grandvalira has won first place in the categories of resort "with the most and best alternatives to skiing" and "with the best restaurant offer". Finally, Grandvalira also won the award for the best ski resort "with the best party and après-ski", where the L'Abarset offer stands out.

Ordino Arcalís, meanwhile, was recognised as the resort that "works its slopes best", as well as the resort "with the best backcountry", referring to the excellent conditions the resort offers for freeride, a characteristic for which it is already internationally recognised with events such as the Freeride World Tour, which makes one of its stops every year in the resort.

Pal Arinsal has been awarded in the category of ski resort "with the best accommodation offer", which highlights the wide variety of accommodation proposals offered by the surroundings of the resort, making it ideal for all types of families.

Last days to buy season ski passes at reduced prices

It is worth remembering that the Andorra Pass and Nord Pass seasonal ski passes can still be purchased at reduced prices until 22 December.
